Different kinds of oilseeds have different oil content and physical properties. So the pre-treatment process varies slightly from one kind of seed to another. Today we mainly introduce the sunflower oil pretreatment process.

First, using magnetic selector, stoner destoner and cleaning machine to remove metals, small stones , impurities from sunflower raw seeds.

Second, using husking machine to remove husks, separating screen to separate husk and sunflower kernel , here separating screen must not separate completel, if not it will be too slippery for sunflower oil pre- press.

Third, For big-size oil seeds, crushing reduces its size to benefit flaking, while for prepressed cake, crushing turns cake to proper size and creats better oil yeild for second press or solvent extraction. (Friendly reminder: Crushing is always necessary for soybean, peanut, palm kernel, coconut copra, tung oil seed, etc.)

Fourth, cooking sunflower seeds ready for oil pre-press

Fifth, pre-pressing sunflower seeds. Here only extract part of sunflower oil , most of oil residue still inside cake (about 12-16%), this part of oil residue will be extracted in sunflower oil solvent extraction process.

After sunflower oil pre-press process, we will get crude sunflower oil and pressed sunflower cake, the crude sunflower oil will be delivered directly to sunflower oil refinery plant for further processing, but the pressed cake will be delivered to sunflower oil solvent extraction plant for extracting more sunflower oil.
